Person on linkedin gave me a private email for username issues

I contacted that e-mail, showed them I had facebook/twitter of gamification and told them I wouldn't use youtube unless I could have same name
They said that the account was inactive and not bieng used, so they would transfer rights over to me

I have premium account so I get 30 linkedin e-mails I can send per month. I was using those. It's pretty damn expensive for what you get, but I've had pretty decent results with it

If you need to contact people, signup for a month, use up the linkedin emails, then cancel it.

YouTube Partner program

On Nov 8, 2010, www.youtube.com/tgnWorldOfWarcraft applied for YouTube partner status.

2.5 months later, we finally got a human response from YouTube.

The answer: “No” (see below)

We need to contact Blizzard to confirm in writing we may use their content for revenue sharing on YouTube.

Now we start knocking on Blizzard’s and Activision’s door to get this letter!

Hi Christine,

When it comes to the use of video game content, fair use is difficult and we are unable to offer legal advice on what exactly constitutes as fair use. I recommended meeting with a lawyer familiar with the commercial use of video game content, or contact Blizzard to confirm in writing you may use their content for revenue sharing on YouTube.

Also, please keep in mind that content on similar channels may be owned by different copyright owners and/or licensed under differing terms, so the current decision on that channel is based on different criteria.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best!

Best,

Michael

Hi, Michael,

Thanks for your reply to the application.

We do provide extensive instructional and educational value on 95% of our World of Warcraft videos!

For example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Er473sRbRc

And
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS07XvSg6JE

Basically, we are doing the same thing as www.youtube.com/TotalHalibut.

What did they do differently to get approved while we are not?

Can you reconsider this case or advise how we should substantiate that these videos are instructional?

Thanks a lot!

Christine

Hi Christine,

Thank you for your interest in the Partnership Program!

We haven’t been able to confirm that you have the necessary rights, including publicity rights, to commercially use all the video game content, art and music from the information you’ve given us, so we ask that you provide written documentation substantiating your claim.

Without the appropriate license or permission from the publisher, use of video game or software user interface must be minimal, or the associated commentary must provide instructional or educational value. Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time will not be accepted for monetization.
